ADE Insight: Rens Wahlen
Amsterdam Dance Event unites not only DJs, who come there with their own showcases, and not only music professionals that are there to sign business contracts and participate in conferences. What is more important, ADE unites music lovers and fans from all over the world to enjoy spending time with friends at the favorite parties! To look at ADE from the “locals`perspective”, we have talked with Rens Wahlen – a Dutch dance music enthusiast, DJ/producer called Auduactive and student of business economics!
What does ADE mean to you?
ADE to me is one of the best two weeks of a year, but compared to WMC (MIAMI) this week is very close to home and it feels like the whole dance music scene is in town. Unfortunately I can’t be there this year, because I’m studying in Sweden at the moment, but luckily some cool events will be livestreamed. The streamed parties are known worldwide these days, but ADE has a lot more to give. It looks like Amsterdam is a whole different city during ADE and you have to experience it once, to know what I mean.
What are your tips for the events during this week?
If I would be there I would attend ”in trance we trust” on Wednesday, ” Hardwell presents Revealed’ on Thursday, Defected 500 or Sunnery & Ryan on Friday and Axwell/\Ingrosso on Saturday. These days it is so hard to make up a schedule!! Next to the parties ADE is a nice opportunity to meet up with new people in the scene, to improve your production skills and to drop your demo’s. But as I’m part of a starting producer duo I mainly have experiences with the parties at ADE.
How do you think ADE will develop in the future?
I think ADE is awesome as it is right now and the only thing I would like to see changing is that they spread it out over a month! 🙂
