Music Non-Profit Organizations
Since the beginning Rhythm Travels has been having its altruistic root to support young un privilged youths in areas where music has a strong connection to its cultural roots. We’re still trying to find our way on how to do it. Untill then we’ve listed some non-profit organizations that are focused in helping through the power of music.
Music Unites is the leading non-profit charity organization supporting music education around the world. Music Unites partners with music stars, celebrity ambassadors and music sponsors to promote music projects and events at local schools – educating kids through music.
We bring music into the lives of 2,500 children from low-income communities across LA County. Recently, we have now added programs across America. All students receive a musical instrument and year-round lessons from a professional teaching artist tuition-free.
All Harmony Project students remain enrolled in school. We provide the resources needed to excel in music, school, and beyond. Older more advanced students mentor their younger peers. Everyone is enrolled in an ensemble.
Music Maker Relief Foundation
The Music Maker Relief Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit, was founded to preserve the musical traditions of the South by directly supporting the musicians who make it, ensuring their voices will not be silenced by poverty and time.
Music Maker will give future generations access to their heritage through documentation and performance programs that build knowledge and appreciation of America’s musical traditions.
Women In Music
Women In Music is a non-profit organization with a mission to advance the awareness, equality, diversity, heritage, opportunities, and cultural aspects of women in the musical arts through education, support, empowerment, and recognition.
Musicians for Microcredit™
Musicians for Microcredit™ empowers bands and artists to alleviate poverty worldwide by partnering with Whole Planet Foundation. From digital downloads and tours to in-store performances and benefit concerts, we work with the music community to empower entrepreneurs around the world to change their own lives.
Guitars in the classroom
Guitars in the Classroom is a 501 (c)3 non-profit dedicated to increasing literacy and learning across the curriculum through integrated music making in public elementary school classrooms. We endeavor to provide responsive professional development training, artist residencies and access to musical resources to participating teachers, schools and school districts.
Musicians on call
Musicians on call brings Live and Recorded music to bedsides of patiens in healthcare facilities. By delivering live, in-room performances to patients undergoing treatment or unable to leave their beds, we add a dose of joy to life in a healthcare facility. Check out what we’re doing across the country to help bring more music to hospital patients, families and caregivers.
Roots of music
We believe music has the power to transform lives. The Roots of Music empowers the youth of New Orleans through music education, academic support, and mentorship, while preserving and promoting the unique musical and cultural heritage of our city.
Music without borders
Since 1999, we’ve been using the power of music for peace-building, connecting people, empowering musicians as social activists, and training local youth as change-makers.
Our long-term commitment allows our participants the time to develop skills and talents, process grief and loss, and build bridges of reconciliation in societies divided by recent or ongoing conflict.
The NAMM Foundation advances active participation in music making across the lifespan by supporting scientific research, philanthropic giving and public service programs. A supporting organization of NAMM, the NAMM Foundation is funded by NAMM Members through trade association activities and private donations.
Art Creation Foundation for Children
ACFFC was founded in 1999 as a small, informal “art day” program, and was formally established as an organization in 2003. We began as a three day a week program with 8 children in a rickety building, run by volunteer artists and administration
War Child empowers people to create an environment where childhood can thrive. This is vital not only for the young people who attend our programs but also for our staff, 95% of whom are recruited locally.
Playing for change
The Playing For Change Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing music and arts education to unprivileged children around the world. We’ve created 12 music programs across 9 countries, reaching over 1,000 students every week, thanks to your support.
Music Fund is a humanitarian project that supports musicians and music schools in conflict areas and developing countries. Music Fund collects instruments, repairs them and gives them a second life in 16 projects in Africa, the Middle East and Central America!
Music Fund also trains instrument repairers and offers the exchange of teaching skills.
