Detroit Sound Project partners with Rhythm Travels to offer screenings of the Electric Roots documentary in Europe.
Detroit Sound Project is a production team made up of native Detroiters set out to raise awareness about Detroit’s most natural resource—music. Through the powerful medium of film, The Detroit Sound Project has become a movement and a social brand that promotes the music of Detroit, its creators, and the influence it has all over the world.
Rhythm Travels is a Global Festival & Club guide that let you buy event tickets with flights but also a company that promotes music cultures by posting music documentaries weekly on their site and recently had screening of the current documentary ‘Baltimore, where you at?’ together with Maskineriet and Caliroots in Stockholm, Sweden.
“Electric Roots: The Detroit Sound Project” (2014)
An immersive experience that connects and explores the origins of techno music in Detroit to all parts over the world. Electric Roots places you in the action at Africa’s Capetown Electronic Music Festival where the world’s biggest DJs and producers–such as Black Coffee and Richie Hawtin–take the stage and perform epic sets like none you’ve ever seen.
DSP’s first release stars DJs Richie Hawtin and Black Coffee, and documents the DSP team’s journey in electronic music from Detroit to South Africa. Electric Roots: The Detroit Sound Project is currently on a film festival tour and has already made its European premier at the Cannes Court Metrage Short Film Corner in 2014. DPS made its North American debut at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles.
