Techno is a form of electronic dance music that emerged in Detroit, Michigan by Derrick May, Juan Atkins and Kevin Saundersson also known as The Belleville Three in the mid-to-late 1980s. The first recorded use of the word techno in reference to a specific genre of music was in 1988. Many styles of techno now exist, but Detroit techno is seen as the foundation upon which a number of subgenres have been built.

DJ Roach who is one of the organizers wanted to celebrate Detroit’s local talents and the fact that Detroit is the birthplace of Techno. Making it available for everyone of any age and valet. TEC-TROIT is a FREE 3 day festival of electronic music from local DJ’s/Artists.
